David Cook

The song “Permanent” is featured on David Cook’s debut album. He performed
that song on the finale of American Idol Season 8. Very emotional song, he
dedicated this to his brother Adam, who died of brain cancer last May 2, 2009.

The song “Permanent” was already available on iTunes and all sales will
go to Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (ABC2), an organization dedicated to a find
a cure for brain cancer.

It was a tough song for David to sing, he dedicated this not only to his
brother but also to all the people who going through something like this.

When I watched David performing this song, I saw the sadness in his eyes and
I know it was very hard for him. But he chose to be strong and tried not to cry to inspire other
people and give them strength to go on with their lives.

The lyrics describes the suffering of his brother with this illness for 10 years and also the
suffering of their family who’s seeing this suffering. Especially on the 2nd stanza.

Lyrics of “Permanent”

Is this the moment where i look you in the eye?
Forgive my broken promise that you`ll never see me cry
And everything, it will surely change even if i tell you i won`t go away today
Will you think that you`re all alone
When no one`s there to hold your hand?
And all you know seems so far away and everything is temporary rest your head
I`m permanent

I know he`s living in hell every single day
And so i ask oh god is there some way for me to take his place
And when they say it`s all touch and go i wish i could make it go away
But still you say
Will you think that you`re all alone when no one`s there to hold your hand?
When all you know seems so far away and everything is temporary, rest your head
I`m permanent
I`m permanent

Is the moment where i look you in the eye?
Forgive my promise that you`ll never see me cry

Yahoo! The two David’s were already here in the Philippines. They’re going to have a concert here in SM Mall of Asia open grounds on May 16, Saturday. David Cook was the Season 7 American Idol winner and David Archuleta was the runner-up. Both of them are good but they have different style. David C. was more on slow rock and David A. was more on ballad and pop. I know that this will be a good concert. The people will enjoy it because of these talented handsome boys will offer.
